Two weeks riding in Patagonia
Left 15th Feb for two weeks of adventure riding for Globebusters in South America, feel very excited to be leading a trip consisting of 14 riders. Love this part of the world. Visiting Argentina and Chile as well so lots of border crossings to do.
After 8 weeks riding across Australia and 6,700 miles later we look back on the adventure with lots of new experiences riding two up, realising how vast Australia is, how long the Nullarbor is, meeting so many like minded people along the way.
Great trip, great experiences, what’s next !!!!!!!!!!!
Well i’m half way through the safari. The pace has been fast and we’re covering around 200 miles a day, all off road. There’s been some tight technical sections and some very fast open fire tracks.
The Continental TKC 80’s are great on all terrain….they look better now they’re dirty!!
Follow my facebook page for more updates and photos of our travels.
There’s 160 participants in this years GS safari and on Saturday night, I had the pleasure of joining them all for the group dinner. It was great to meet like minded people and share our stories of our adventures!
On the Sunday morning a 14 tonne truck was loaded with all our luggage….we don’t travel light do we?!
I’ve fitted Continental TKC 80’s on my bike for the safari and I have high hopes they’ll be great for the terrain ahead of me.
After a long journey with a few days stopover in Hong Kong we have arrived in sunny Australia. Having collected our bike which we’d shipped over to Australia from the UK by motofreight, we headed to the Morgan and Wacker BMW dealer in Brisbane.
We bumped into a guy there who is also taking part in the BMW GS safari from Scotland and another guy who works in the branch who’s also from Scotland…..we felt quite close to home!!
The GS safari is a challenge that’s held in Australia every year for 6 days. This year, it’s being held on the Gold Coast. It’s an endurance challenge which is all off road- 300/400km every day OFF ROAD!! Everyday brings different challenges and skills to cover the demanding terrain- this varies from mountain tracks and trails through to twisty sealed sections to help link the trails together.
This starts on 6th November 2016 and finishes on the 11th.
Watch this space for more updates on the challenge!
We leave for Australia October 24th and head straight for Brisbane, and with only three days to clear Customs, we then head for the start line for the BMW Safari Enduro – an exciting six days of riding in the outbacks.
At the finish in Noosa Heads we head south for Sydney and then the long ride from East to West and finish in Perth.
